O U R S T O R Y
In Afghanistan, a war-torn country, impunity for human rights violations and abuses had long prevailed. Despite the hope for a better future, since the unlawful takeover of the country by force in August 2021, the human rights situation has become dire and victims have been left without meaningful recourse.

As human rights crises persist and emerge around the world, the Center for Human Rights Advocacy was created to ensure victims are heard, by providing support to facilitate their access to international human rights mechanisms and international and national courts.

We believe justice is not a privilege but a right – and an essential element for building durable peace.

"Human rights is not about beautiful words, but about reaching every and single person in need. They are the protagonists who cannot be on stage. Empowering communities is where the magic comes from, and where our attention should always be."

"Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home – so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. … Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere. Without concerned citizen action to uphold them close to home, we shall look in vain for progress in the larger world."
